Shell has started drilling its second well in Ukraine

Shell and PJSC «Ukrgasproduction» within their joint activities agreement have started drilling the second exploration well Novo-Mechybelivska-100. The aim of the project is the exploration for natural gas in tight sand formations.

Novo-Mechybelivska-100 well is located in Blyznikivskyi district of Kharkiv region within the administrative borders of Novonadezhdivka village council.

It is planned that the drilling phase will last for 9-10 months. The well is vertical and the planned depth is 5000 meters. Drilling is performed by the rig owned by Saipem international drilling company.

The size of the drilling site is 6 hectares (300 meters long and 200 meters wide).
